| Avellinia (Poaceae) not in the Student's Flora |
|
|
|
| Tasmania has
one uncommon introduced species of Avellinia. This is a
small, tufted annual that grows on sandy soils. The distinctive
features of this genus include the open panicles of
multiple-flowered spikelets with one glume almost as large as the
florets and the other reduced to a bristle. The spikelets are
arranged in a panicle. |
