Cocksfoot (Dactylis
glomerata) is a common pasture grass that has become quite
widely naturalised on roadsides, waste ground etc). It is quite a
coarse tufted grass, with bluish leaves often about 1cm wide and
about 30cm long. The spikelets are in dense clusters, these in turn
are arranged in a panicle. The spikelets have on a few flowers (2-7) and are quite
hairy, given a soft appearance to the inflorescence. |
