Tasmania has
four introduced species of barley (Hordeum). They are all
moderate to large grasses with flat leaves. The characteristic
feature is that the spikelets are one-flowered and are in groups of
three densely clustered along the main axis of the inflorescence.
Hordeum marinum is known as sea barley grass. H. vulgare
is known as six-row barley. H. distichon is two-row
barley. |
