Phleum (Poaceae) 4b:285
Phleum pratense (Timothy Grass) is an uncommon agricultural and roadside weed. The inflorescence is a soft, dense spike-like panicle. The spikelets have a single flower. The distinctive feature is the glumes - which have a line of long hairs and are extended into a hard, thick apex, which often points outwards.
