Pomaderris
elliptica
is a common shrub that grows in dry and wet sclerophyll forests.
It is one of a group of very similar species. The others are
P. pilifera and
P. intermedia, which have long simple hairs on the lower
leaf surface, and P. racemosa,
in which the flowers lack petals. All of these species also
have dense covering of stellate hairs on the stems and lower leaf
surfaces.
