Opercularia varia (Rubiaceae) 2:271

 

Opercularia varia is a widespread and common native species in open forests, sandy heaths and dry places. It has a strong unpleasant smell when crushed. It is a low growing perennial herb with rhizomes. The leaves are usually less than 3mm wide, but the plant is very variable in habit, indumentum and leaf shape.
