Two species of Lycium
have become naturalised in Tasmania. L. ferocissimum (African
Box-Thorn) is the most widespread and is readily recognised by its
dense, spinous habit, whitish flowers with purple centres and small
fleshy fruit. L. barbarum (wolfberry) is a spiny, woody
climber.
