Histiopteris incisa  (Dennstaedtiaceae)

Histiopteris incisa (bat's wing fern) is a very common and widespread native fern that grows in the understorey of wet sclerophyll forest (sometimes rainforest), or most commonly after these forests have been disturbed. It is a moderately large ground fern, made distinctive by its glaucous leaves that are distinctly soft and slightly fleshy. It commonly occurs with Hypolepis rugosula, but differs from that species in that the pinnules are much wider (~3-4mm wide).
