Corybas (includes Anzybas, Corysanthes; Orchidaceae) 4a:121
Tasmania has six species of helmet orchids (Corybas). These small plants are quite conspicuous. The have a single broad leaf that is held flat to the ground (though sometimes a little above it). The flowers are unmistakeable - they are on short stalks (often only about 1cm) and the upper sepal forms a large, helmet-shaped hood that is usually dark coloured (often reddish).
