Tasmania has
two species of Chordifex. Both are common native
herbs in waterlogged peats (often occurring in button grass
sedgelands). They are more-or-less typical members of Restionaceae,
with cylindrical stems with several scarious bracts, and terminal
inflorescences of spikelets. The two species are similar in habit,
having straight, unbranched stems (often 20 or 30 cm tall),
terminating in one or a few ovoid spikelets (a few mm long). |
