Winifredia
sola is a reasonably uncommon native species found in lowland sedgeland
(including button grass) in south-west Tasmania. It is a
more-or-less typical member of Restionaceae, with cylindrical stems
with several dry scale-leaves, and terminal inflorescences of
spikelets. One distinctive feature is the stiffly erect, thick
(2-3mm) stems that are widely spaced on the rhizome. |
