This page is designed to provide information to students currently in the NCMCRS and those interested in joining the School to carry out research training, MSc, MScAppSc or PhD.
The NCMCRS is very research active, with most staff involved in funded research and supervising research students. We have more than 40 graduate students currently studying in the NCMCRS which provides a strong environment of peer support and collegiality.
We can offer you world class training in research as academic
staff who supervise are all research active with strong track
records in attracting funding and publishing in international
journals. Additionally strategic collaborations with other
research institutes and industry provide unique research opportunities.
We are part of the Tasmanian Aquaculture and Fisheries Institute
(TAFI) which provides opportunities for collaborative research
among the research scientists within the Institute. Other
collaborative research opportunities exist as part of our
partnership with Seafood
CRC and with research scientists at CSIRO.
As a result of an extensive network of collaborative research activities within Australia our graduate students have the opportunity to study at a number of locations including Launceston, Hobart, Queensland and South Australia.
As the Graduate Research Coordinator for the NCMCRS I can provide a first point of contact about broader issues associated with your period of study. My office is on the second floor and I can be contacted by email (Natalie.Moltschaniwskyj@utas.edu.au) or phone 0363243802.
There is also a Graduate student representative who represents
the research students within the NCMCRS. |
