The School of Aquaculture offers both Bachelor
of Aquaculture(Honours), Bachelor
of Science(Honours) and Bachelor
of Marine Science Honours in Aquaculture for graduates with
an aquaculture, agriculture, general biology, or aquatic science
background wanting to gain training and experience in aquacultural
or aquatic research. A number of exciting project opportunities
exist within our very active research program.
The Honours program can be undertaken on a full-time or part-time
basis, an option that is taken up by students already working in
industry. The program can also be started in either Feburary or
July.
Several scholarships are available for entry to (full-time)
Aquaculture Honours. The scholarships target students with excellent
undergraduate records.
The Honours course consists of a literature review, a research
proposal, two seminars, and a research project. Students choose
a project from those available and work closely with a supervisor
to generate an original research thesis.
Students are required to complete all components of the course
and write and submit a bound thesis on their research project.
If you are interested in enrolling in a Bachelor of Aquaculture
(Hons) contact Dr
Chris Bolch.
Students who successfully complete an Honours qualification may
be interested in a PhD.
