Policy Outline

Insured Interest

All vehicles owned, used or operated by the University or in which the University has an insurable interest, vehicles owned by directors, employees or others whilst being used on the business of the University, whilst only within Australia.

Exclusions

Exclusions in relation to alcohol, unlicensed driver, etc apply. The full list of exclusions can be obtained by contacting Financial Services on Ext. 3514 or 3667.

Excesses

The base excess of $1000 will be charged to the relevant Budget Centre.

Additional Age Excesses

Driver under 21 years of age - $750 (Total payable by the Budget Centre is $1750)
Driver aged 21 to 25 years of age - $300 (Total payable by Budget Centre is $1300)

 


Important Additional Information

Usage of Private Vehicles

Private vehicles used in connection with University business must have full comprehensive insurance and can only be used with the approval of the Head of Budget Centre.
Should the vehicle be involved in an accident while on University business, the University may compensate the staff member for the amount of excess charged by the vehicle's insurer and loss of no claim bonus in the year following the accident, upon production of relevant documentation. No other costs will be met. The cost of the excess (as listed above) will be charged to budget centre funds.
