Mission Statement

Financial Services is a section within the Division of Finance and Administration. Its Mission Statement is :

    "To provide accurate and timely financial services to the University community ensuring effective :

    • decision support,
    • financial and management reporting,
    • compliance with legislative requirements and internal control, and
    • transaction processing."


As part of a Divisional Strategic Planning Seminar the following values and vision for Financial Services were established :

    • Professional and technical competence
    • A productive and supportive work environment

    Vision

    By December 2000, Financial Services will be recognised as the primary financial decision support unit in the University's transformation to a commercially astute organisation.

    Our success will be measured by :

    • Staff and management with the morale and skills to professionally support decisions in a competitive and commercial environment. (morale survey and skills audit)
    • Effective service level agreements with senior management, faculties and divisions, and other specialised client groups (eg: Co-operative Research Centres, University Business Enterprises). (measure number of service agreements eg: 3-5)
    • Effective and efficient operations in support of the service levels negotiated with customers. (staff and customer survey on the effectiveness of service level agreements for measurements)
