Distinguishing features: Alpine rosette herb, common. Leaves 1.5 - 3 cm long and a few mm wide, broadest at the ends, with teeth at the ends and some hairs. Leaves are more or less flat. The flowers have no pappus. Similar to B. spathulata (which has hairless spathulate leaves), Erigeron gunnii var gunnii and E. pappachromus (which have flowers and achenes with an obvious pappus).
