Distinguishing features: Shrub of subalpine woodlands.  Leaves entire, obovate, shining and dark green on the top, white or pale brown on the underside. The flower heads are solitary. This species is similar to O. persoonidoides which has groups of flower heads and thinner leaves and grows at lower altitudes.
