ASTERACEAE Ozothamnus  hookeri (Helichrysum hookeri)

Ozothamnus hookeri (Helichrysum hookeri)

Distinguishing features: Kerosene bush. It is smelly when crushed. This is the most common shrub on dry plateaux, which are burnt with some frequency. The leaves are very small (1 or 2 mm and quite narrow), acute, overlapping and scarsely spreading. Olearia algida is similar but has larger, more spreading and more separated leaves (and Olearia flowers).
