ESCALLIONIACEAE Anopterus glandulosus

Anopterus glandulosus

Distinguishing features: Common understorey shrub or small tree of rainforest. The leaves are broadest above the middle, about 7-20 cm long, with acute apices and tend to be in whorls. The teeth have glands. Can only be confused with Cenarrhenes nitida in which the leaves are not in whorls, do not have glandular teeth, and most if not all of the leaves have rounded apices (also obvious differences in the flowers and fruit).
