MYRTACEAE Callistemon viridiflorus

Callistemon viridiflorus

Distinguishing features: "Bottle brush" (one of many). Common subalpine shrub. Leathery-hard, alternate leaves with glandular dots. The leaves stick straight out from the stem, are about 2-3 cm long, 5-8 mm wide, with a sharp point. The flowers are green bottle brushes, and leave capsules sessile in groups on the stem (like Melalueca spp, which however do not have the hard leaves but have stamens in 5 groups).
