Restio monocephalus

 
Distinguishing features: Light glossy green stems with leaves reduced to a few sheathing bracts more or less uniformly distributed up the stem. The flower heads are compact and there are usually only one or two per stem. Very common in peaty vegetation (e.g. button grass plains) , especially in lowland areas.
