Dr Sebastien Meffre graduated from the University of Sydney in 1996 with a PhD on the Development and tectonic implications of island arc-related ophiolites and sedimentary sequences in New Caledonia. Sebastien joined CODES in 1996 and began working in Program 1 on a number of tectonic reconstruction projects in Vanuatu, Tasmania and New South Wales. Between 2000 and 2003 he began working on developing the U-Pb zircon geochronology facility in CODES. Since 2003 he has been working across a broad range of CODES projects focusing on tectonic reconstructions of SE Asia, SW Pacific and E Australia, Pb isotopes in ore deposits and measuring and imaging gold and other elements in ores.
