The 14th HETSA Conference


to Richmond and Port Arthur

Timetable:

Saturday 14 July 2001: One-day trip

Morning: Pick up at University Centre by Bus
Travel to Richmond
Morning Tea at Richmond Arms Hotel
Leisurely stroll and explore the Richmond Village, including the famous Richmond Bridge
Travel on to Port Arthur Historical Site

Lunch: Port Arthur Museum Cafe

Afternoon:

Organised site tour of the areas, including a specialised guiding through the economic history of convict settlement.

The tour site includes walking tour, audio visual presentation, with access to all restored buildings, ruins, museum and gardens.

Afternoon Tea at New Visitors Centre.

Return to Hobart by 5.30pm.

This field trip is a great opportunity to appreciate the original settlement of Tasmania from a specific historical perspective that will be a memorable experience.
