Further developing recent investments by the School of Economics and Finance in creating in 2010 the UTAS Experimental Economics Laboratory. It will substantially increase the operations and research outputs of the Laboratory, creating the leading research institution in Australia in the application of experimental economics to natural resources and the environment. The project also builds on and complements University-wide capability and reputation in marine resource and Antarctic environments (IMAS and ACE CRC), and the management of terrestrial landscapes (Centre for the Environment). Project leader Professor John Tisdell is building upon and further extending international linkages with similar laboratories at the University of Amsterdam, the University of Arizona, MacMaster University, the University of Valencia, University of Massachusetts, Amhurst, California Institute of Technology and George Mason University. Domestic links are already in place with the University of Sydney and the University of Melbourne as well as on-going projects with CSIRO.
