Faculty of Education

About us

Welcome to the Faculty of Education

Within the Faculty, the School of Education offers a range of undergraduate, graduate, postgraduate coursework and research higher degrees to prepare prospective students for rewarding careers in education.

With campuses in Hobart, Launceston and at the Cradle Coast a strong focus on flexibility is our strength. Our flexible course delivery incorporates online learning and teaching to complement traditional methods of teaching to enrich the learning experience beyond the classroom.

The units that are offered partially or fully online are delivered using the software platform MyLO.

To ensure our undergraduates are prepared for the teaching world, we provide students with extensive Professional Experience opportunities with increased teaching responsibilities as students progress through their course.

Our strengths

We value our strong relationships with key stakeholders that represent the diversity of the education sector and the community. We draw on these organisations to prepare pre-service and in-service teachers for their roles as professionals and members of the wider community.

Our courses are developed to meet the needs of busy working people. Studies can be completed full time or part time. Your choice of units determines whether you study internally through traditional on-campus lectures and workshops; externally with online support or; via summer school.
