Within the Faculty and the University as a whole, staff have a number of opportunities to engage in the scholarship of learning and teaching, leading the enhancement and assurance of curriculum and teaching and be rewarded for their excellence in these areas.
The Faculty has its own teaching development and research grants that enable staff to explore the scholarship of learning and teaching, and these are available in October each year. Staff are encouraged to see these grants as the first in a series of funding opportunities (i.e. UTas Teaching Development Grants and Australian Learning and Teaching Council, ALTC, grants) which enables the piloting of projects designed to research and enhance teaching and learning within the Faculty and our courses.
Staff in the Faculty whose excellence in learning and teaching is well recognised are encouraged to apply for University teaching awards and are supported in the conceptualisation and development of their applications.
