Take responsibility for the management of the unit:

• Working with the Faculty Executive Officer (Academic) on matters related to course entry, retention, progression and graduation
• Making judgements in relation to complex student matters including transition,arrangements, entry, credit, cross-institutional enrolment and RPL
• Monitoring applications, offers and enrolments
• Assessing non-standard applications for admission
• Understanding and advising on the course budget for sign off by the Head of School
• Providing advice to students on course-related matters
• Monitoring student progress
• Coordinating student assessment across the course
• Ensuring appropriate data is supplied to assessors meetings and leading course specific discussions
• Participating in course coordinator meetings
• Organising and conducting course team meetings
• Undertaking regular communication with staff and students
• Analysing and reporting on course-related data such as the SETLs and student progress rates
• Coordinating course provisions for all students including those with disabilities
• Considering academic records for potential graduands
• The compliance of the delivery of the course with the approved documentation
• Developing and maintaining a course portfolio

• Providing advice to students on unit related matters including withdrawal, administrative issues and clarification of matters in relation to the unit outline
• Collating students’ final results and preparing and finalising results for assessor’s meetings
• Actively participating in assessors meetings
• Actively participating in course team meetings
• Organising and conducting unit team meetings
• Liaising with the Faculty office about the ordering of unit and teaching SETLs

• Providing unit-related data such as the SETLs and student progress rates to the course coordinator

• Preparing the unit outline within the Faculty template
• Establishing, maintaining and supervising the MyLO site

• Ordering textbooks through the University Bookshop

• Submitting appropriate reading lists to the Library, six weeks before beginning of semester

• Submitting learning materials for conversion into accessible forms for students with disabilities
• Compliance of the delivery of the unit with the approved documentation
• Developing, maintaining and critically reflecting upon a unit portfolio

Collaborate with key staff of the Faculty and School to provide academic leadership to the course team in relation to:

Contribute to the academic leadership of the course through:

• Contributing to student recruitment through marketing strategies and activities in conjunction with the Faculty office.
• Demonstrating a vision for the course and enabling staff to appreciate and engage with it
• Providing leadership in relation to course structure and its ongoing development
• Enabling staff to generate and deliver on shared goals
• Monitoring and benchmarking of key quality indicators such as SETLs, CEQ, GDS, equity ratios, attrition/retention and successo the academic leadership of the course through
• Leading course-based and cross-course student orientation
• Leading the ongoing evidence-based course development, design and delivery
• Soliciting feedback from course stakeholders in relation to course coordination process / outcomes and course design
• Leading course-related quality assurance processes such as reviews, analysis of SETLs, CEQ, GDS, equity data, attrition/retention and progress
• Writing annual course reports (March)
• Contributing to the recruitment and induction of new staff and the support of sessional staff

• Actively participating in the team meetings of Faculty courses where the unit is a required part of the structure for the purposes of curriculum enhancement and team cohesion
• Participating in student orientation sessions and other course-related activities delivery
• Soliciting feedback from unit stakeholders (including peers and co-teachers) in relation to unit coordination process / outcomes and unit design
• Participating in course-related quality assurance processes such as reviews, analysis of SETLs, CEQ, GDS, equity data, attrition/retention and progress
• Providing relevant uni-related data to inform annual course reports
• Contributing to the identification and employment of sessional staff or secondees, through consultation with the Course Coordinator and the Head of School
• Coordinating and mentoring the staff involved in teaching the unit

• Promoting the Faculty’s medium term priorities, annual objectives and ongoing approach to student-centred learning and the scholarship of teaching / research 
• In collaboration with the Head of School, contributing to cross-program unit rationalisation and enhancement
• Overseeing the pre-assessment and post-assessment moderation processes undertaken
  across the program
• Collaborating with the Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning) and other key staff
• Effectively participating as members of the Faculty’s Teaching and Learning Committee and its Communities of Practice
• Promoting collegial and team-based approaches to academic work
• Being available to meet with program staff
• Working with colleagues to develop a collaborative and collegial approach to course design and delivery

• Ensuring appropriate unit design and delivery, including assessment and graduate attributes
• Ensuring currency of content
• Implementing pre-assessment and post-assessment moderation processes
• Overseeing the development of unit materials, including copyright
• Identifying plagiarism and other kinds of academic misconduct
• Maintaining scrutiny of online discussion groups
• Developing unit improvement plans based on student feedback and other data
• In conjunction with the University Disability Adviser, providing reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities
• Collaborating with the Associate Dean (Teaching and Learning), course coordinators and other key staff
• Working with colleagues to develop a collaborative and collegial approach to all aspects of unit design, delivery and ongoing improvement
