The UTAS Faculty of Education has been advised that the Tasmanian Teachers Registration Board (TRB) is still progressing the request to align the UTAS Faculty of Education’s Professional Experience days with the national standards. However, we have been informed that these changes are likely to be approved.
The Faculty is advising staff and students of these expected changes as early as possible because these changes will have an impact on the workload for some staff, and some students will have to apply for leave from their work to undertake their Semester 2 professional experience days.
In regards to 2012 Semester 2, the forthcoming changes to the number of professional experience days undertaken in the Bachelor of Education and Masters of Teaching courses are planned, and the dates are outlined in the following table:

Full implementation of the proposed reductions (10 days in the M.Teach in total) will be implemented from 2013.
The Faculty hopes this additional information is of assistance and students and staff will be advised formally when the approval process is completed.
