Distinguished visiting US educational researcher Professor David Berliner will briefly review local and national school achievement by focusing on the results of a recent international achievement test. The panel will respond to these remarks and, along with the audience, wrestle with the issues of what is commendable, what should be changed, and what future policies are needed for the Australian school system.
