Professor Derek Colquhoun, Head of School of Education at UTAS, was invited to the Albury Wodonga Community College (AWCC) in February to open the new Morley building.
The Morley building will host the Home Economics and Bakery Trade Training Centre as well as the BGA Science and Computer Labs.
Professor Colquhoun said of the event “It is truly inspiring to see the work of the Albury Wodonga Community College and the way in which it engages with its broader community. The Morley building will be a significant addition to the Community College and will assist the College in supporting the learning of students of all ages from across the region.”
The Morley building is a Commonwealth funded $1M renovation of the old Wodonga Post Office and fulfils many of the underpinning principles of the AWCC including community access and lifelong learning.
Professor Colquhoun is pictured here at the opening ceremony with Reg Morley (long time supporter of the AWCC), Greg Aplin State Member NSW for Albury, Sussan Ley Commonwealth Member for Farrar, Sophie Mirrabella Commonwealth Member for Indi and Bill Tilley State Member Victoria for Benambra.
