Bachelor of Education (Science and Mathematics)
- Are you interested in being a teacher in secondary schools?
- Do you love science and/or mathematics and are keen to teach these subjects to young people?
Then this newly accredited initial teacher education course could be for you. Act now - UTAS is open for enrolments.
In 4 years you can study education, science and mathematics subjects and graduate as a science and mathematics teacher qualified to teach from Year 7 to Year 12. During your study, you will develop an understanding of the disciplines of science and mathematics and an appreciation of how the nature of these disciplines impact upon the ways in which they are taught and learned. Currently, you are able to choose from chemistry, biology or physics majors in your science study.
The course allows flexibility as it is provided through blended delivery which means you can choose to take units either fully face-to-face on campus, online, or blended modes. For units that require hands-on learning you will need to attend a residential school on one of the UTAS campuses in Tasmania.
The course will enable you to distinguish yourself from your peers and gain advantage in seeking employment both locally and interstate. It will prepare you for teaching, not only in Tasmania, but anywhere in the world.
