The Faculty of Education is holding its inaugural Post-Graduate conference this year on the 25th and 26th of November in Launceston. It will incorporate the Honours evening (on November 25) and immediately precede the AARE conference that starts on November 27.
The post-graduate conference is aimed at providing a forum in which our Research Higher Degree students (including honours students) and staff can showcase their work to peers, staff and the wider university and education communities, and for the faculty to celebrate their achievements in this context. It is our hope that all of our RHD students will be involved by presenting a poster or presentation and also a paper for the proceedings of the conference. These will be reviewed and published by a commercial publisher and will count as chapters in a research book (C1) for HERDC purposes.
We encourage all RHD students to consult with their supervisors and to submit an abstract by September 15 (Extended until 29 Sep)to education.research@utas.edu.au. Honours students will be preparing their posters in the usual way and do not need to submit an abstract.
Further details including the cost (which will be modest), details of keynote speakers, and transport assistance available for students and staff from Hobart and Cradle Coast will be available soon.
The conference is shaping up as a very exciting event that will become an important part of our annual research calendar. I’ll look forward to receiving your abstracts!
