Professor Balfour is in the state to work with our colleague Dr Mary Ann Hunter and has kindly offered to present the following sessions:
Faculty Research Breakfast Seminar: 10 things you might not know about ARC Linkage grants and arts education/community sector partners
Wednesday November 9
This informal discussion will be of interest to academics interested in developing ARC grants with community/education sectors. The talk will lead researchers through the stages of applying for a grant, from initial idea to final submission.
Public Lecture: Resilient Ecologies: belonging and becoming in refugee performance
Wednesday November 9 - Annex Theatre, School of Visual and Performing Arts, Inveresk
Drawing on contemporary critical writing and practice on refugee-based performances, Professor Balfour will explore the ethics and possibilities of arts work with people from a refugee background.
RSVP / Contact Information: E. UTAS.Events@utas.edu.au P. 6226 2521.
Professor Balfour's other current research projects extend to theatre work in prisons, exploring digital narratives with returning soldiers, and arts practice in world conflict zones.
I encourage you to attend one or both sessions and extend the invitation to the public lecture to any colleagues who you feel would find the topic of interest. It is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to a renowned researcher.
Regards,
Ian
