Master of Teaching pre-service teachers must be available to undertake unpaid professional experience (PE) in appropriate educational settings on a full-time basis for a number of weeks each year, totaling a minimum of 60 days over 2 years.
PE is embedded in four different units which require the pre-service teacher to successfully complete assignments and show competence in the educational setting across established criteria signed off by the colleague teacher.
Master of Education (Primary and Secondary) students undertake four PE placements and must undertake their placement in their chosen area of specialisation.
The dates of Professional Experience differ depending on the course and unit you are enrolled in. Please check the Professional Experience Calendar for dates.
NOTE: Variation to these dates will only be granted in exceptional circumstances
There are a number of steps you need to take to ensure that the administration of your Professional Experience runs smoothly.
