Prior to commencing your Professional Experience Placement please ensure that you:
Enrol in the correct unit for your professional experience and have completed any necessary pre or co requisite units.
Apply for and obtain your Student Good Character Determination from the Teachers Registration Board (TRB), Tasmania, or relevant interstate equivalent. Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) pre-service teachers must also apply and obtain for a Safety Screening check. These clearances must be produced upon request to the educational site where you are completing your placement.
Check your University emails daily.Apply for your placement via SPMS.It is the pre-service teachers' responsibility to apply for their Professional Experience placement. Pay particular attention to the opening and closing dates for applications. Failure to apply by the closing date may delay your placement and ultimately your graduation.Read the Safe to Practise Policy, sign and return your declaration and if necessary medical check form.

The dates of Professional Experience differ depending on the course in which you are enrolled. Please download the Professional Experience Calendar to find out when your Professional Experience is scheduled.
Variation to these dates will only be granted in exceptional circumstances.
