Before employment within the university in 2006, Dr Ashman was an Assistant Principal within the state school sector in Tasmania, a curriculum leader and a teacher of LOTE in particular Indonesian.
Currently, Dr. Ashman leads the professional experience program within the Faculty and teaches extensively within the Languages education program for both primary and secondary pre-service teachers.
Dr. Ashman is involved in developing and implementing units within the Masters of Education (Global Education) program for on-line and face to face students.
