Lynda completed a Bachelor of Teaching (Middle School) in 2006 and Bachelor of Education (Honours) degree in 2010 both at the University of Tasmania. After completing the BTeach she was employed as a Research Assistant in the Faculty of Education and has worked on several projects, including “Retaining beginning teachers in rural Tasmania” in conjunction with Science, Information and Communication Technology and Mathematics Education for Rural and Regional Australia (SiMMER). Lynda is currently assisting on the ARC Linkage Project “Student retention beyond the compulsory years in rural, regional and disadvantaged communities”, where she assists in creating surveys, analysing qualitative and quantitative data and the review of literature.
In 2011, Lynda also took on Project Manager of the “Numeracy in University of Tasmania” project in the Centre for the Advancement in Teaching and Learning (CALT). This project focused on the Numeracy requirements and support within the University degrees. From this project, she is currently employed as a Learning Skills adviser, specialising in numeracy assistance, and as a Research Assistant within the Student Centre working on projects such as “Integration of international and domestic students in Drop in”.
Lynda presented her works from her BEd (Hons) at post-graduate conferences in 2010 and 2011. Her conference paper has been accepted for publication.
