Achievements
PhD (Melb); MEdStuds; MPubAdmin; Grad. Dip Ed. (UTas), BSc (Hons) (UMIST); GAICDRosemary Callingham has an extensive background in mathematics education in Australia, at school, system and tertiary levels. Her experience includes classroom teaching in middle schools, mathematics curriculum development and implementation, large-scale testing, and pre-service teacher education at primary and secondary levels in two Australian universities. She has worked on projects in Hong Kong, and North Korea, as well as in many parts of Australia, and has been a Chief Investigator investigator on several large research grants. She has supervised 5 completed PhD projects and currently has 7 active RHD students. She regularly provides professional learning to systems and schools in aspects of assessment of mathematics, developing multi-layered mathematics teaching tasks, and specific strands of the mathematics curriculum, especially statistics and probability. She uses Rasch measurement and other quantitative approaches in her research and her research interests include statistical literacy, assessment of mathematics and numeracy, and teachers’ pedagogical content knowledge.
