Achievements
I graduated with a First Class Bachelor of Education (Honours) degree and a University Medal in 2002. I graduated as a Doctor of Philosophy in 2008.
I have undertaken a number of roles in the Faculty of Education, since 2000. I originally tutored in ICT and Education, but from 2004 was employed on a variety of projects in the Faculty. These roles have included, amongst other things:
- Project Manager of the Go West, North West: A project to encourage more secondary teachers to work in the West and North-West of Tasmania (2010).
- Project Officer for the development and accreditation of new Faculty of Education degree courses (2007-2010).
- Research Assistant for a longitudinal study in relation to mathematics education units within the Faculty of Education (2007-2009).
- Review Support Officer for the Faculty of Education Bachelor of Education Internal Review (2008).
- Research Assistant for “The joy of boys: Qualitative assessment of the outcomes of teacher professional development” (2005-2006).
- Research Assistant for “Repertoires for diversity: Effective literacy and numeracy practice in inclusive schools” (2003-2004).
- From 2007-2012, I was the Assistant Editor of the international journal Research Studies in Music Education (published by SAGE).
Additional information
I currently work part-time as a counsellor with Alzheimer’s Australia Tasmania’s Launceston office, and have interests in counselling and dementia.
I also work part-time as an Editorial Assistant, and have assisted with the publication of a number of edited books:
