Achievements
Belinda Hopwood is a lecturer at the University of Tasmania in the area of Curriculum Methods and Pedagogy. She has been teaching at the Faculty of Education since 2011 and has taught a range of subjects including Human Development in Educational Contexts, Teacher as Planner, Assessor and Reporter, English Pedagogy and Practice in the Primary Years, Foundations of Literacy: Processes and Practices, Secondary English Literacy and Society Environment and Integrated Curriculum. Belinda began her career as a secondary school teacher, specialising in the areas of English, Society and History, Drama and Literacy. She has also taught in the primary setting across a range of subject areas.
Belinda is currently completing her PhD under the supervision of Professor Ian Hay, Dr. Janet Dyment and Dr. Tim Moss. Her research is an investigation into the impact that transition has upon adolescent students’ literacy achievement in the areas of reading and spelling. Belinda also has research interests in a number of areas including literacy education, curriculum design and implementation, teacher pedagogy and education in the middle years.
