"My PhD project has helped to open my eyes as to what a true education should be."Kevina Kezabu, Uganda
PhD in Education
My mother was a teacher, and I admired her and what she did for the children, and this prompted me to consider a career in education for myself.
I heard about the University of Tasmania through a friend, and when I received my scholarship my decision to attend was cemented.
My PhD project has helped to open my eyes as to what a true education should be. I believe that this PhD will help me to work with teachers to mend the education system in Uganda. While I am in the midst of studying, I am also undertaking some tutorial work at the Faculty of Education for the spring semester, so I am kept very busy! I also enjoy reading and writing a lot, and love supporting my students learning through MyLo.
Some of the highlights of my time at the University of Tasmania to date is the amazing support of my supervisory team, and the friendships that I have made with the other PhD students.
At the University of Tasmania, the sky is the limit. My advice to future students would be that working and supporting one another makes everything possible! The University of Tasmania really is a fantastic experience, and I would recommend it to other international students as it is a great study environment!
