Bachelor of Education (Specialisations), Newnham campus, Launceston.
Outdoor Education and Health & Physical Education

I had originally applied for a government job, but due to the economic times in Tasmania the department ceased employment, so I had a gap year where I worked in a few outdoor areas and did a few trips with a school. This type of work inspired me to enrol in Education.
My favourite unit has been Introduction to Human Biology. I have found it really engaging and interesting because there is so much subject matter, and I feel like I am really learning something.
I haven't had too many challenges so far, however I have found it difficult sometimes comprehending exactly what tutors are asking of me, particularly in larger assignments.
Make the most of the help being offered to you and utilise your tutors - they answer most queries when you're unsure of something - and keep up-to-date in all your units, it's easy to get behind!
I will have (hopefully) graduated and will be teaching Outdoor Education in the south of the Tasmania.
Make sure you've got good, warm and comfortable accommodation if you are having to move away from home to study.
