Scotch Oakburn College, Year 12
Why did you decide to come to uni/ Why did you decide to become a teacher?
Because I spent 6 months of my gap year teaching English in Vietnam and loved it. Also because I would like to be able to provide students with the knowledge and skills to help them succeed throughout their lives.
What is your favourite unit/subject? Why?
My favourite unit that I have completed so far would have to be Game Sense, because it is a class where you can have loads of fun, while learning heaps of great games that I can use when I'm teaching.
Highlights of your study/experience so far?
My highlights so far would have to be my Prac experiences. It is so much fun and I love working with the kids and it is excellent to see how much they enjoy the games that we play.
Any advice for future students?
Make sure you give yourself a challenge. Try to choose placements that will test your skills and abilities.
Where you would like to see yourself teaching in 5 years time?
Teaching some where overseas, maybe in Africa where they aren't exposed to the same opportunities and resources that we are in Australia.
