Location: Distance/online with opportunties to study some units on-campus in Launceston or Burnie*
Duration: Two years full time, Up to 5 years part time**
Intake: February and July
Entry Requirements: Minimum UTAS admission requirements do not apply. Prior learning is recognised.

The Associate Degree of Education Support is a two-year course intended to provide an educational qualification for teacher aides, school support officers and home-schoolers.
It is also a qualification option for those students wishing to exit early from the UTAS four-year pre-service teaching degrees - Bachelor of Education (Primary) and Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood).
The program is available by distance/online^^ with opportunties to study some units on-campus in Launceston or Cradle Coast*.
Students undertaking the Associate Degree (Education Support) will graduate with a qualification informed by core theoretical knowledge.

The Associate Degree (Education Support) course structure contains, one foundation, nine introductory, three intermediate and three advanced level units. The structure is closely aligned with the course structure of the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) and Bachelor of Education (Primary) courses, enabling credit transfer for those students wishing to progress to a teaching qualification upon completion. All units in the Associate Degree (Education Support) are one semester in length and weighted at 12.5%.
