No, came straight to Uni from college. Did 2 years of an Arts degree before changing to education in 2012.

Why did you decide to study the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood)?
I have a passion for working with young children, particulary those aged birth to five years. I decided to study the B.Ed (EC) because I wanted to gain a qualification to teach in a school, as well as build on knowledge I have developed as a child care worker.
What is your favourite unit/subject? Why?
I love ESH 110 Foundations and Theories of Literacy, as it has been interesting to learn about the many areas of literacy. I also love the weekly activities on Mylo. My favourite activities have been the ones where I needed to write an activity with a particular aspect of literacy which could be done with children.
Highlights and challenges of your study/experience so far?
ESH120 Personal and Professional Numeracy has been a challenge as maths has not always been my strong point, but I have been getting through the unit with the support of my peers. Highlights have been learning new content in each content. It has been interesting so far!
Any advice for future students?
Don't be afraid to apply for University, and when you do get in, do not be afraid to ask for help, whether it be your tutor, lecturer or your peers. Everyone is so helpful!
Where you would like to see yourself in 5 years time?
Teaching a Kindergarten class somewhere in Australia, or overseas travelling South East Asia doing voluntary work teaching

It is a great course. I was not happy doing Arts and am so glad I took the plunge and made the change to Education. It has been the best decision and I am finally on the right path to my ideal future career.
