Course you are enrolled in:
Bachelor of Physical Activity Studies
Year currently enrolled in course:
Second year
Why did you decide to study the Bachelor of Physical Activity Studies?
In 2008, I had an operation that took quite some time to recover from. This period of recovery opened my eyes to just how important health and fitness are - for every person of every age. That's when I started to get passionate about helping other people live healthier, happier lives. This passion is what eventually led me to the BPAS degree.
What is your favourite unit/subject? Why?
I'm not sure that I have one. They have all been interesting and fun.
Highlights of your study/experience so far?
Getting my Bronze Medallion. When I started the swimming component in Semester 2 last year, I could barely swim. Being able to complete the 400 metre swim to receive my medallion was the best feeling.
Any advice for future students?
Don't put study on hold until 'the right time'.
Where you would like to see yourself in 5 years time?
Working in the health industry, helping other people improve their quality of life.
Any other comments?
Being a mum and working as well as studying is a challenge, but the BPAS degree is so much fun, that it doesn't feel like work!
