TESOL
What was your previous qualification and background (work experience)?
I have worked previously as a TESOL teacher for 18 months in Yongin, South Korea, and one year in Chungli City, Taiwan. I have worked as a P.E. teacher in Bowen, North Queensland for one term. I currently hold a degree in Human Movement Sciences from SCU and a TESOL certification from Global TESOL college.
Why did you decide to pursue postgraduate study?
I hope to continue traveling and teaching English in various countries through out the world.
Why did you decide to study with University of Tasmania?
The program offered at UTAS was the most suitable for my needs. The online program is both flexible and well directed.
What is your favourite unit/subject so far? Why?
I prefer Current Issues in Second Language Learning. The cultural and anthropological conflicts I have encountered in my past experiences abroad have long been food for thought for me and the coursework in this unit is certainly broadening my understanding of the subject.
Highlights of your study/experience so far?
I've really enjoyed the freedom afforded in writing the reflective journals.
