Transportation

There are no direct international flights to Hobart. However, there are regular connecting domestic flights between mainland capital cities and Hobart - generally via Melbourne (about a one hour flight) or Sydney (about a 2 hour flight).

Hobart is located approximately 18km from Hobart Airport.

Rental cars are available at the airport (Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz, Thrifty).

Taxis are also readily available at the airport, outside the terminal building. The taxi fare between the airport and Hobart is approximately AUD$30.00.  

A shuttle-bus is also available from Hobart Airport. The Airporter Bus meets all flights, and can drop you off at your hotel. It also offers a scheduled service from Hobart to the airport (which your hotel reception can organise). The fare is AUD$12.00 per adult one way, or AUD$20.00 to and from the airport. The fare for children between four (4) and sixteen (16) is AUD$5.30 each way.
