Our aim at the University of Tasmania is to graduate engineers who become leaders of the community, their profession and industry. Few professions can provide the career diversity offered by engineering. So if you want challenges, responsibility, rewards and excitement – engineer your future at UTAS.
The School of Engineering’s extensive teaching laboratory facilities provide valuable hands-on experience in all engineering specialisations. Students also experience the latest in technology development and application, through challenging team projects.
Our graduates are sought after nationally and internationally because of their wide-ranging knowledge and expertise. The four-year bachelor degree course is accredited by the Institution of Engineers Australia and recognised internationally via the Washington Accord.
The Bachelor of Engineering degree is a four-year, full-time course studied at the Hobart campus of the University of Tasmania. First-year engineering is also available at the Launceston campus.
All students study the same course for the first three semesters. Mid-way through second year, students select to study one of the seven engineering specialisations.
