Every year prizes are awarded to undergraduate students from all engineering disciplines. The presentations are usually held in the last week of second semester and are sponsored by various organisations including local industry, University of Tasmania and Engineer's Australia.
Details of the prizes are given below.
Best all-round performance over the four examinations in Engineering Degree
$300
Awarded to student showing highest proficiency in fourth year design unit.
$400 + 1 years free membership of Engineers Australia
Greatest proficiency in Engineering Materials & Structural Mechanics 1.
$400
High academic achievement in Electrical Power + project relating to Power Engin.
$500, certificate + 1 years subscription to EESA
Awarded to Tas. female student who has completed first year of Engineering or Surveying Degree course with most distinction
$600
Awarded to a Civil Engineering student in final year on results of their academic achievement in the penultimate year of study.
$300, certificate + free attendance at 4 Institute of Civil Engineering functions within the 12 months.
The student who gains best overall results in Geotechnical Engineering 1 & 2 together with final year project related to above subject.
$250, certificate + 1 years membership of Aust Geomechanics Society
The student with greatest proficiency in Thermodynamics & Thermal Energy Systems in 2 consecutive years.
$230 + certificate
The candidate showing greatest proficiency in third year Electrical Engineering & Engineering Design 2.
$265 + certificate
Candidate who majored in Electrical Power Engineering in the 4th year of the Engineering Degree & who has given the best all round performance over examinations of the course
$325 + certificate
Best completed third year Engineering student.
$950 + certificate
Outstanding academic achievement in third year Engineering Degree course in Electrical or Computer Systems Engineering
$400 + certificate
The candidate who obtained highest aggregate mark in Filter Networks, Digital Communications, High Frequency Systems, Comm Systems.
$490 + certificate
Awarded to final year Civil Engineering student - australia wide
$2000, certificate & engraved medallion
Third year Engineering student for proficiency in work for examinations in third year.
$120 + certificate
Awarded to a fourth year student for proficiency in fourth year examinations
$120 + certificate
First year Engineering student who has shown the greatest proficiency in their examinations
$130 + certificate
Second year Engineering student with greatest proficiency in their examinations
$130 + certificate
